Bird Watching

Due to our mild climate and coastal proximity, the Houston area is one of the best in the country to observe the migration of our feathered friends. So our very own biologist and conservationist, Jane and Nell, are leading our flock to observe birds in local habitats. If you enjoy ornithology or simply being outdoors, please join them in pursuit of learning about and appreciating one of Houston's best natural resources.

Monthly 8:30am Friday outings will visit various spots around town or beyond.
The meeting places will change, so watch the BPP newsletter or website. From the meeting spot, we will carpool to the birding destination.

The outing will be cancelled in heavy rain - in light rain we will go ahead and bird. Some times we will observe from the vehicles, but most of the time we will walk on trails.

Bring binoculars if you have them, water, snacks, bug repellant, sunscreen, hat, and maybe raingear. Shoes that you can get dirty are good.

Hope you will join us for some outdoor fun!

Arrange your own carpool with friends, please. Please notify Nell Bednarz on her cell at 281-352-8057 at least a day in advance if you're planning to attend. May have multiple vehicles to coordinate.

May 11 -- Sea Rim State Park

And probably the Cattail Marsh at Beaumont. Check with Nell if interested. May become an overnight, but for now planned as a day trip.
